To celebrate this important recognition, which offers us the opportunity to enhance and protect a unique environmental heritage in the world and to provide the territories with an extraordinary lever for cultural and socio-economic promotion, the Region has promoted an event that was held on October 13, 2023, at the headquarters at Viale della Fiera No. 8 in Bologna (Sala 20 Maggio).
Participants included the Italian ambassador to UNESCO in Paris, Liborio Stellino, and the Minister of Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, who were entrusted with the conclusions.
Contributions were also made by the regional councilor for Territorial and Landscape Planning, Parks, Forestry, and UNESCO Barbara Lori, followed by Stefano Lugli (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia), Paolo Forti (University of Bologna), Massimiliano Costa (Coordinator of the technical-scientific table for the candidacy), Gordana Beltram (IUCN evaluator - International Union for Conservation of Nature), and Paolo Ferrecchi, Director General for Territory and Environment Care of the Emilia-Romagna Region. The moderator of the meeting was journalist Valerio Baroncini.
