Evaporitic Karst and Caves of Northern Apennines

On 23 January 2022, the Governing Council of the Italian UNESCO National Commission unanimously decided to submit the "Karstification in the Evaporites and Caves of the Northern Apennines" for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List, as the Italian candidacy for the 2022/2023 cycle. following the proposal made by the Emilia-Romagna Region (DGR 28/2022) and strongly supported and endorsed by the Ministry of Ecological Transition that submitted the request.

The application consists of various documents in English: a descriptive summary document, an application dossier with annexes, the management proposal and four maps.

In addition to the official documentation, a summary document was also prepared in Italian and English.
