The “Ciclovie dei Parchi” are 10 cycling routes within the regional parks and nature reserves. The different paths allow you to enjoy wonderful land-scapes in the hills and plains while discovering not only the beauty of nature and the environment, but also history and architecture.
These “Ciclovie dei Parchi” are intended for all cycling enthusiasts, but also for the less experienced cyclists. They are mapped out with varying degrees of difficulty and can be ridden for the most part by mountain bike, but in some cases also with a normal bicycle. The technical data provided for each bicycle route describes all relevant information in order to choose the most appropriate itinerary: length, gradient, degree of difficulty, travel time and useful contacts.
The different bicycle routes are also accessible by train with a path “to the park” marked by specific signage, which departs from the nearest railway station and arrives at the gates of the protected ar-ea.

Through the Ciclovie dei Parchi project and the Alta Via dei Parchi, Emilia-Romagna Region promotes nature conservation and the valorization of the whole regional system of protected areas, also by development of sustainable tourism models. Furthermore, the Region approves and funds the interventions proposed by the managing bodies of the Parks and coordinated the various actions of the project Alta Via dei Parchi, for example:

  • realization of a coordinated signage (coordinated image manual – Ciclovie dei Parchi – available on-ly in Italian);
  • production of disseminative and promotional material (depliant, guide, hiking maps, hiker note-book);
  • organization of events.
