LAGO SCAFFAIOLO – TOSSIGNANO

11_TorrenteBrasimone_ArchivioParcoLagodiSuvianaeBrasimone.jpg With a simple walk, first in the high mountain environment and then on comfortable forest tracks, from Lago Scaffaiolo you will reach the Tre Croci Pass, located near the Mount Cavallo refuge.
On day 2, with a long stage that alternates lonely stretches to inhabited areas with villages and buildings, you will reach the banks of the Suviana lake, and finally the houses of Poranceto, located at the borders of a centuries-old chestnut forest.
On day 3, walking though solitary woods, with long stretches on secondary roads, you will reach the Marian Sanctuary of Boccadirio.
On day 4, a rather brief and non-demanding walk in the open landscape of the middle Apennines, will lead you to the Alpe di Monghidoro, located near to the village with the same name.
On day 5, a long stage will take you from the beech forests of the high Savena valley to the hills of Romagna, by going through a great variety of environments: from the fascinating landscape of the clays, shaped by rocky boulders, to the outstanding chestnut forests of Castel del Rio.
With the last stage you will cross the Santerno river on the Alidosi bridge, a perfectly preserved single-arch bridge from the XII Century. You will then proceed on secondary roads along a ridge stretch that will accompany you with beautiful views on the Santerno and Senio valleys and on the Vena del Gesso until Tossignano.
